In Case You Missed It…

So close….I don’t know if the video shows it but last night Jake said that there was going to be an event in Australia where he plans on getting enough tries to do the trick. I believe he said it wasn’t until late August so as soon as that happens it will be on here. I wonder if he could try it during the big air rail jam tonight. As you can probably tell Tony Hawk was disappointed that Jake didn’t keep the board under him. It’s cool to see the inventor of the trick want to see someone do it bigger. This will probably be the biggest thing this year unless Shaun White manages a 1080 in the vert competition.

Unlike the Cleveland stop, there hasn’t been any video (UPDATE: there is now some video, only about 15-30 seconds of skating is shown in what I watched but for those of you who are into all the music there is plenty of it so check it out)of the competition yet but Effort Boards updated their news page with the following news:

Upcoming Event: DNA Midwest Footwear Show

midwest_show

This looks like a cool event to go to if you get the chance. There is going to be a grip of pros (as listed above) and if you’re a sneaker/art head you’re going to be in for a good time. The CAC always puts on good exhibits and has featured skateboarding a time or two before, one event even had The Hot Chocolate Tour playing on a couple of the TV’s and it had artwork, boards, and photography done by pros, photographers and the like.
I don’t think I’m going to get a chance to make it to it but if any of you do, feel free to email me pictures at OhioSkateUniv@gmail.com
The details are on the flier but if you need more information click more for links that can help you out if you need it.

Battle Commander: Mike V

I know this has nothing to do with BATB2, aside from the fact that it announces when and who the next two matches are but, Mike V got a lot of hate on youtube for his match against Chris Cole. I’m just posting it because it’s good.
This video is evidence that once again Mike V is better than you and he even peppers in a flip trick or two to prove it. Now I know this wasn’t his mission and I’m not trying to preach for Mike V, I’m just saying respect what the man does.

Monday: Jerry Hsu v. Raymond Molinar
Tuesday: Josiah Gatlyn v. Cairo Foster
